October 18, 1966 – June 20, 2018

Jeff Ellis passed away unexpectedly at his home on June 20, 2018. He was born on October 18, 1966 in Orange, California and was adopted by his parents Bill and Marcia Ellis (now Essigs) when he was two weeks old.
He and his parents moved to Scottsdale in 1967 where his baby sister Julia (Julie) soon joined them, making the family complete.
He spent many happy years visiting his grandmother’s farm in Indiana, camping, hiking, and playing on the beach in San Diego.
He went to Cocopah Elementary School and graduated from Chaparral High School. He graduated from ASU in 1989.
Jeff’s exuberant personality and positive, upbeat outlook on life led to many close friendships that lasted all his life. He excelled in corporate computer sales, winning many awards in his career.
He was introduced by mutual friends to his wife, Sara (Williams), when she visited from Missouri. They married in 2003 and soon were blessed with two precious sons, Hudson and Griffin. Jeff loved all sports, but baseball was his great passion. He was delighted to have a chance to relive his Little League years with his sons, often helping as a coach. If not coaching, you would always find him on the side lines cheering on his boys. Although Jeff is gone physically, his infectious smile will shine forever in the hearts of his family and many friends.
Jeff is survived by his wife Sara; sons Hudson and Griffin, as well as his stepson Cooper Williams; father Bill Ellis, stepmother Rae (Kains) Ellis; mother Marcia Essigs; stepfather Chuck Essigs; and sister Julie Ellis. He is also survived by step brothers and sisters, John (Kathy) Kains, David Kains, Cynthia Kains, Richard (Jennifer) Essigs, and Wendy (Jeff) Sanuik.
A Memorial Service was held Friday, June 29, 2018 at Mountain Park Church in Ahwatukee.
